Suicide in the Workplace: What Mental Health Professionals Need to Know About Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention

Summary:  Suicide is an occupational hazard for mental health professionals, and yet many “don’t know what they don’t know” about state of the art suicide prevention, intervention and postvention practices. This presentation will cover current information on suicide prevalence among working aged people and will explain a powerful model that will help clinicians assess suicide risk. Finally, the presentation will give mental health professionals tools to help workplaces cope with the aftermath of a suicide crisis.
